AD Trend Alert

Denim, denim, denim.

The fabric of California.

Denim continues to benefit from its increasingly versatile nature as a well-informed consumer pushes brands and retailers to move well beyond the traditional five-pocket jean. Once inextricably linked with raw denim, the jean has morphed into a multi-channel lifestyle product with a place in almost every apparel market from luxury to street to skate and performance.

It is clear that California is still central to innovation in denim. Not only are there the wash houses, but also a multitude of brands and unique and independent retailers. With the thriving independent design scene on the west coast, our Customer Design and Innovation Center (CDIC) is the perfect platform for established and emerging labels to collaborate and share inspiration.

"We aim to invite collaboration, inspire innovation and provide visitors with the insights, tools and capabilities to develop the next breakthrough branding solutions with an emphasis on sustainability,” Will Bernard, Global business development manager - Denim.

Located in the heart of L.A.’s vibrant Downtown Arts District, the CDIC primarily focuses on the premium denim market, along with surf and skate specialty markets.

Check out the below preview of our hotspot guide to L.A, as featured in our latest denim deep dive. The full digital version of the deep dive is available on request, including a copy of the map with an added navigational feature. If you would like to be one of the first to receive a hardcopy please contact me at izzy.joly@eu.averydennison or your local Avery Dennison representative.
