Made to Mention: Scodix™ solutions

Watch out Spot UV, Scodix is the newer, cleaner kid on the block!

Technology has come a long way in the fashion industry, and the desire for more sustainable and flexible branding drives these innovations forward. In 2016, Avery Dennison RBIS launched a suite of unique print enhancement solutions, in a partnership with Scodix. The latest release from our Made to Mention series is full of inspiring new developments which utilize Scodix enhancements in a multitude of ways: creating 3D textures, foil finishes, variable depths and other tactile effects.

“Scodix is an open book when it comes to what you can do with it. The range of polymers, weights and effects combined with specialized processes means it can be tailored to fit any branding purpose, no matter how unique.” Rana Sidahmed, global creative director, Trends and Insights.

Keep an eye out for the latest advancement in Scodix: Foil Sense by Scodix™ which creates flashy, eye-catching and shiny raised effects in a number of colors! Im sure you’ll agree the technique is engaging not only visually, but also with a sense of touch! But It’s not only the visual and tactile benefits that are making it such a success. The digital process makes it a much more sustainable solution than traditional Spot UV. By reducing waste, setup and run time, UV power usage and removing requirements for molds, screens, chemicals, printing plates, and reduced hazardous waste, Scodix is miles ahead of traditional printing methods.
