Avery Dennison Apparel Solutions is pleased to announce our recent collaboration with swimwear brand Speedo to create a hangtag featuring our Foil Sense by ScodixTM solution to support the launch of its Missy Franklin Signature Series collection. Foil Sense by ScodixTM is the latest in a range of Scodix print enhancement products Apparel Solutions offers, creating flashy, eye-catching and shiny raised effects on labeling and branding materials.
Designed in collaboration with the five-time Olympic medalist and holder of two individual world records, the collection will be colorful, feminine and performance based, featuring a logo with an “M” in the shape of a heart. Scodix technology enhanced the color on the chosen signature tag, allowing it to 'pop' with a special rainbow effect. The Sense solution produces an embossed effect by applying polymer to the graphic tag at varying heights. The result: a flashy heart with raised effects.
Scodix by nature provides more sustainable solutions and various environmental benefits, due to reduced setup and run time, decreased UV power usage, and reduced hazardous waste compared to traditional print processes.
Speedo chose Foil Sense by ScodixTM to drive the personality of the collection, both inspiring women and tapping into their passion for swimming. “We worked closely with Speedo and Scodix to test various sheets and treatments for the perfect look," said Rana Sidahmed, Apparel Solutions' global creative director of Trends and Insights.

To celebrate Team USA’s success in the 2016 Olympics, Speedo is set to release the Missy Franklin Signature Series of performance suits for women and girls in early 2017 from speedousa.com. According to Speedo, the Missy Franklin Signature Series will feature 18 pieces, including one-piece suits and mix-and-match separates across three vibrant color stories.
